i seldom watch badminton matches. not because i don't like to, but because i can't bring myself to. even so, i still watch them sometimes, coz you never know when they might pull a miracle.
but for most of the time...it's vexing, watching them. especially when they're losing points, no matter if they have my faith or not. yea, call me harsh or shallow. alright, it's actually exciting to watch when they're winning points. especially those who i believe in.
but it's really disappointing and heart-breaking to sit there, get your hopes up for a few minutes, then get shattered again few minutes later.
what's even more vexing is when you have other audience with you criticizing and berating not only the players but also the government. it just makes my blood boil when they get on a roll about racism.
can't we just enjoy the game and hope for the best???
why must everything be connected to racism for god's sake?
ok, ok. everything is still very much related to skin color, ethnicity, language and what not.
but can we not talk about this during a game?
i'm trying to watch the game here, hello??
and please, even if you doubt our players, please refrain from giving them the death sentence just 1 minute into the game?
they're not bad, ok? if not, why are they even in the team?
although, i admit, they lack consistency and mental strength. they have the potential, but it's just weird that some of them don't have the knack in making the most out of the situation. hence my lack of faith in those people.
and...it's enough just berating our players, but singing other teams' praises without knowing your facts? that's really too far. is our badminton team that worthless?
who are you to judge just by watching a single match?
do you even watch them play in other tournaments?
gosh.
yes. it angers me and sometimes i get disappointed watching badminton.
i'll still watch any good badminton game any day though, regardless of who's playing.
provided those vexing people are not watching together with me =)
