our family history, on my father's side, is super interesting and exciting to me.
based on what i've heard in the 22 years of my life, which is very minimal, i think it's even much more dramatic than dramas.
the unfortunate fact is, the original sources are all not here with us anymore. but even if they are, we might not even hear 10 percent of the stories from them. coz they are just so tight lipped. zip.
one thing that really bothered me was...not even his sons knew about his martial arts background until his late years when one of them were told about it by his brother. grandmother never even breathed half a syllable about it. though they sometimes see him doing the horse-ride position early in the morning, no one suspected anything.
my own uncles' and father's childhood stories are filled with so much boyish mischiefs and excitement, but we only ever hear about it very oh-so-occasionally.
however, it's not like we can just ask about it whenever and wherever. there is a time and place for all this. and the hard part is getting them to let down their guards and talk about it freely.
i think they really take after their parents. super tight lipped about their past and thoughts.
i crave for all the juicy stuff in my family. always. yet i don't have the luxury of access to them.
wouldn't it be real nice if they could appear in my dreams and then tell me all about it?
haha...crazy.
