green tea cake with red bean filling

made the cake for mom's birthday. turns out the original recipe is pretty tiny. so in the end i made another layer of cake. next time, i'm gonna double the recipe, but reduce the sugar coz it's too damned sweet.

the red bean filling is also too sweet >.< and i'd already reduced the sugar amount. gonna cut of half of the sugar.

it's not bad for my first attempt ^^ but i still think Sun Moulin's Japanese Green Tea Cake is the best.

My first Japanese Green Tea Cake with Red Bean Filling.
It didn't look this nice before it was cut. Mom even called it "Fatt Mou Cake" (mouldy cake). Someone suggested to put the strawberries on top coz we happen to have some. I need to work on my frosting skills. it really looked ugly coz i didn't have enough whipped cream. all went into the red bean layer.

My first Tsubu-An (red bean filling - whole beans)
gonna cook it longer next time coz it wasn't soft enough. not bad...just too sweet for our taste.

and dumb me for getting expensive ingredients =.=" now i know where to get my cheap green tea powder. and so near some more.
