attended my first ABA training. knowing all the principles beforehand, is definitely an advantage. i'm glad i still remember the ABC and conditioning stuff. easier to absorb the other new stuff i'm learning =)
one thing i realize though, is that my attitude towards taking criticism (constructive or otherwise) has definitely changed. gone were the defensive me, trying to put up a front that i understand exactly what i'm talking about when i don't, trying to keep face that i get your point, trying to defend my ignorance instead of accepting it.
i guess i'm more humble now (whoa, this coming from my mouth, weird). as in, i'm more open to any feedback, any pointers on what i do wrong, any advice on how to do right; putting myself out there to ask what i don't know; discussing about sth with poor examples and letting people correct me; checking myself and apologizing when i realize i'm wrong.
and i'm glad that people are genuinely open to learning and sharing information. learning from each other and sharing experiences. not afraid of making mistakes and asking so-called "stupid" questions or making "unintelligent" statements. coz we all just want to clear the fog and learn.
i love it.
