Poster Defence

the anticipation of what was to come was scarier than the actual "conversation" itself.

"conversation"? if it was indeed a conversation, why are you grading us then?

true. it was like any educational conversation or knowledge exchange, and i didn't feel overly anxious or fearful during the hour we sat in front under dr. H and John's scrutiny. in fact, as minutes ticked away, i felt more calm.

but i kinda screwed the "conversation".
evidently, i don't know my stats. i tried bluffing my way through but obviously failed. hahaha.
well, u can only pretend so much, can't you?
why lah why did John had to ask me that question?
oh well, it's my fault for not revising my stuff.
need to revise the whole thing from the beginning. or else how am i gonna survive in my post-grad years?

it didn't all go bad actually coz my work was appreciated and praised ^^

however, the lighthearted mood in the first half didn't carry over to the second half of the session.
that day, i witnessed a person's pride crumble.
i can't say it was all her own doing, nor can i say it was other persons' fault. all of them played a part.
it was uncomfortable sitting down there witnessing all that.
it was difficult to watch, even though i had my own prejudice about them.
though i had my own questions about what happened, i couldn't voice them.

and though i think it was a good and timely lesson for them, i couldn't voice them.
coz i'd be seen as brutal, black-hearted. but i do think so.
coz from the perspective of life experiences, i do perceive this as a valuable learning experience. i do think that this serves as a good catalyst for change. i do think it was time someone realizes something.
and i'm actually glad for her that it happened now rather than later.

i can now just hope she would be able to take in all this in a positive way.
