My 22nd Birthday

it was quiet and uneventful, as usual.
no special celebrations, just a nice family dinner and dessert together.
but i was happy that i finally got to have "Garlic-Pork Ribs Soup" and our very own "Steamed Tin Kai".
hehehe. birthday has its own merits. hahahaha XP

people asked me how it went. like they were expecting me to have some grand celebration or exciting special event.
i seriously don't know how to answer that question.
coz my birthdays have always been simple. save for those handful of times when i get all red-faced when my friends surprised me with loud birthday song singing in public.

but i am thankful for all the messages and phone calls i get. [even though one came at the wrong time. hahaha =P]

erm...actually...i thought that my lack of enthusiasm about my birthday did put off some people. hahaha.

well...like i said...birthday is just like any other day. there are still work for us to do, classes to attend, and deadlines to meet. of course it is special coz it's your own anniversary for living this long in this world.
but the world still moves on.
time is not gonna stop just because it's your birthday.
work is not gonna stop just because it's your birthday.
that's why i don't see the fuss of celebrating my birthday elaborately.

but...there'll always be people who appreciates your existence.
they'll set aside time for you, pause what they're doing, and wish you well.
they'll do whatever they can to make you feel special on your special day.
they are those who care.
and i thank all of you for that.
for making an ordinary day special.
