reading news

been reading articles from the Times and Newsweek mag. and news articles from CNN-US and Guardian World News.

it's a breath of fresh air reading stuff that i don't usually read in local newspapers. the star and sin chew are just plain boring and uninteresting and unappealing to me right now.

sick and tired of the same old tone. not even the evening news on AEC is satisfying.

as much as i wanna be informed of the local political dramas, i'm adopting the 'tidak apa' attitude right now. don't wanna care nor hear about the foolishness and biasness and no-brainness that's happening. embarrassing really.

i really should've started reading all these a few years earlier. then maybe i wouldn't be so apathetic towards all the drama that's happening here. or maybe not.

as a citizen, i shouldn't be ignorant. but in some ways, being apathetic makes me ignorant as well. coz i'm not motivated to look or think further into the issues.

what with so little time to even do my own stuff and yet have sufficient sleep, i'm lucky to even have glanced through the newspapers for 10 minutes over breakfast.

why can't local news be succint and straight to the point?
why can't local news be relevant?
i mean, it saves us lots of time if the news are condensed but with substance.

and sometimes, i just wanna shake some sense into the writer or the editor, coz how can you allow grammatical mistakes? frustrating, really.
i'd listen to the radio news any time to be updated rather than reading newspapers.

is it any wonder that i don't read newspapers these days?
