it was time for JY to go home. he was supposed to keep his things but he started shouting at his imaginary friend.
then his mom came in.
he shouted a bit more.
we told him his mom was here. and i could tell he didn't believe us at first. but when the atmosphere in the room became still...he knew. but he still didn't turn around. i guess he was scared. or maybe he wanted to preserve his pride.
and then the mom said in a stern voice: "LJY, what are you doing?!"
immediately, he turned into a lamb. though he still didn't turn around to face his mother. you could tell he was really scared.
a minute or so later, he obediently went to his mom. ever so polite and docile.
the transformation was amazing. a bit scary and sad, but, amazing.
then when he was finally walking out of the room, he said "bye bye" in the nicest, sweetest voice we've ever heard from him. and he was saying it to each of us with eye contact. (usually, he'll just say "bye" in a dismissing tone. though recently i'm fortunate enough to receive a nice "bye-bye" with a smile)

when they saw the angry bird bouncy ball in their goodie bag, they all shouted: "wah...angry bird!!!"
MI: (coolly) wow. cool!
and then when someone accidentally hit the ball on the wall and it started blinking, they all shouted: "wah......."
MI: (jumping) WOW!! (and started bouncing and dancing with his angry bird ball)

all the kids loved it when we gave them a balloon each. but their mothers' reactions were oh-no-i-hope-it-won't-pop.
